Password protected pages can be handy when you only want a select or privileged group of users to be able to view a particular webpage. It will allow you to be able to post content, without having to worry if people are viewing your page when they aren’t suppose to.

While it is not advisable to use this feature on all site pages, there are instances where this technology is useful.

How is this feature used?

MARKETING: Create members only pages meant for select audiences.

DEVELOPMENT: Work on concept pages for your site by using a staging area meant for only internal stakeholders or employees to review

PRIVATE EVENTS: Use for a private event that requires only guests that RSVP can see.

CASE EXAMPLE: Let's say you are a seller, who wants to price differentiate to customers. Your general retail pricing pages are posted, but you want bulk purchasing clients to be able to view content that the public cannot see, so you set up separate pages that are protected and given to varied clients. It's just that simple.

How does it work?

Once a visitor opens the webpage, a popup modal appears. The user then enters the username and password, then voila, the site content is viewable. One password is specified per page to all users.
